does it ever stop???

Brady and I decided that we would do some things to our cute little home, to make it more like "ours". It all started out with simple task of putting a hole in the wall...
Evan showing off one of his many talents...
changed my mind on the straight open and opted for the arch...
Then.... while we are on a roll, let's get a new kitchen! FABULOUS idea, right?!

we had to go from the HUGE window, to the itty bitty one so we could fit some counter tops underneath it.....

patch the siding... we did a siding transplant from the stuff on the house under the carport! :)

patch the wall inside, and then....

we turned the 2 stairs going into our mudroom, into a landing so people wouldn't fall down them and break a leg! We put a wall on one side to keep the noise from the washer and dryer to a minimum.
(Thanks for your help with this, Timm!! )
and last, but definately not least....
this is what we have left. The plumber was supposed to be there today to move the plumbing down so we can finally start putting our cabinets back in. WOOHOO!! When that is finished, then we can tile and put a close to the "inside house" projects for a while! So, if we seem to have disappeared from the world for a while, atleast you know we are keeping busy!

Memorial Day Weedend

(disclaimer: I am not a professional roofer, so don't ask for any help! :) )
While many of you were spending time at the lake, the park, going out of town, and things like that.... this is what we were doing

Re-roofing my parents house! I know, I know, don't be jealous! We spent our weekend, and part of the following week, working on this beauty! (the roof, not my dad) There were many a times I thought I could have thrown a couple of them off the roof (won't mention any names) but look at what it looks like now!!

I want to send out a special thanks to our little man Juan for coming and showing my dad the way the "real roofers" do it. It saved us HOURS AND HOURS of lining things up in the exact measurement apart and in a straight line. It's quite the case of OCD my dad has, but I will be the first to say that as frustrating as it is (and it really is frustrating sometimes) he does some QUALITY work! I love that my dad has so many talents that I can use fully to my advantage! Not only is he knowledgable in many trades, he is one hell of a babysitter! Thank you dad for all you do. Helping you with the roof was the least we could to to help you and mom!
